Kocaeli Sopalı Hospital is a full scope health facility servicing 385 in-house patients located in Kocaeli. After retrofitting and renovation works in 2007, the hospital has started to give services under the name of Derince State Hospital.
Survey of each building’s structural elements using available data, measurements, and destructive and non-destructive testing, an investigation into the foundations, site-specific geological and geotechnical conditions, retrofitting and renovation designs, technical specifications and BoQs were prepared under the scope of Prota.
The hospital has a total construction area of 40,000 m² and 385 beds capacity. Prota was responsible for the Earthquake performance assessment, structural analysis, retrofitting works and renovation designs.
