Seka Paper Museum

Turkey's first and the world's largest paper museum, SEKA Paper Museum, which was established by the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality in an effort to preserve and keep alive industrial heritage, was inaugurated on November 2016.

In 2011, Prota Engineering completed structural and seismic design works of the museum. In 2016, as a result of 3 years of restoration and construction works, Seka Paper Museum was opened and became the first Paper museum of Turkey and the biggest one in Europe.

The museum had been established on over 12,345 square meters of land and features 19 different exhibition venues. In this project, Prota’s scope of work included;

  • Seismic assessment and damage analysis
  • Preparation of In-situ drawings as a base for architectural restoration final and detailed drawings, 
  • Detail designs of retrofit systems for restorations,
  • Preparation of lists of building works, bills of quantities and cost estimates.
  • Preparation of technical specifications
