Kahramanmaraş Elbistan State Hospital

Kahramanmaraş Elbistan 300 Bed capacity State Hospital is planned to be constructed on an area of 125 Ha. in Karaelbistan region of Elbistan District in Kahramanmaraş Province.

Architect of the building is Ms. Nimet Aydın from Projen Architecture. Building structural design is carried out by considering the architectural design constraints.

Kahramanmaraş Elbistan State Hospital is comprised of seven blocks, namely A-B-C-D-E-F-G blocks. Blocks A and B are the single and independent building blocks. They have their independent mat foundations.  Blocks of C-D-E and F-G are designed in between the levels of -4.50 and ±0.00 at the isolator floor. Therefore mat foundations are stated independently from each other under the Blocks of C-D-E and F-G. Due to the constraints of mechanical members, 30 cm of mushroom slab system is preferred at every block placed on all floors, to prevent any reduction in the respective floor heights. Beams are only placed at the external boundaries of the Block A to decrease the first Mode of the building. Beams are used in some areas of the building slabs having big holes to prevent slab displacements. Building loads with respect to the use of purpose are applied by considering the architectural design constraints.

There are two isolation planes in the building designed as seismically isolated.  Main isolation plane is stated on the columns of the first floor. On the shear walls, isolation plane is made at the bottom as forming the second plane in the structure.
